Navigating the Main Window


Quick Start Guide
Pops up at the start of the program with basic instructions for getting started with StudyX.


Question (box)
Allows you to enter a question, or view existing questions.


Answer (box)
Allows you to enter an answer.


Check Answer
Responds whether the entered answer is correct or incorrect. StudyX will respond to your answers by increasing the frequency of questions missed for optimum mental retention.
NOTE: at any time you have the ability to reset the Mastered Stats by going on the menu bar to:
Question>Advanced>Reset Mastered


Stats (box)
Still Studying: shows number of questions that need to be mastered (learned)
Mastered: number of questions in the current file that have been answered two consecutive times.
Estimated Time: amount of time remaining based on the current pace of studying to master the questions in the current file.


Skip Question
Tells you the answer for the current question and goes to the next question to study.

Gives a few tips on how to use the StudyX program.


Save
Saves the entered questions to your specified subject file.


Load
Loads the entered questions from your specified subject file.


X (button on main window)
Closes the program.


_ (button on main window)
Minimizes the program.


‘<’ and ‘>’
Allows you to navigate through the questions. These buttons are located directly above the Question box.


Features Help: Menus


File (menu)
New-creates a new, empty file.
Open-Loads an existing file.
Save-Records the current file to disk.
Print (answer sheet)-will print a study sheet (note: for more print options, go to print menu).
Import/Export-allows you to export a question/answer file to Excel and to Import the file into StudyX.
Exit-leaves the program.


Questions (menu)
Add/Delete-Allows you to add/delete questions.
Options-change the program settings.
View All Questions-brings up a menu that lets you view all of the existing questions.
Flash Card View-Allows you to view questions and answers like flash cards.
Advanced:
   Switch Questions and Answers-swaps all of the questions for the answers so that you can study them in reverse.
   Reset mastered-resets the still studying/mastered stats.


Print (menu)
Question/Answer Sheet-prints a nice study sheet.
Note cards-prints note cards that can be cut and folded.
Practice tests-
   Fill in the blank-prints a fill in the blank style practice test.
   Multiple choice-prints multiple choice test.
   Matching-prints matching test.


Generate File (menu)
Question/Answer Sheet-creates a nice study sheet.
Note cards-creates note cards that can be cut and folded.
Practice tests-
   Fill in the blank-creates a fill in the blank style practice test.
   Multiple choice-creates multiple choice test.
   Matching-creates matching test.


Download Questions
Download Questions-allows you to download questions.
Upload questions-allows you to upload questions.

Digital Test
Generate HTML Test (fill in the blank)-generates a test than can be used without the program. To use this, click on this menu item. Then type in the name for the test and click Save. After you click save, the test will automatically be loaded in your internet browser.


Generate HTML Test (multiple choice)-generates multiple choice test that does not require this program. To use this, click on this menu item. Then type in the name for the test and click Save. After you click save, the test will automatically be loaded in your internet browser.
